Right now I am suffering as a result of the economic down turn. I have been registered unemployed for nearly 6 months now and I have to actually say that it isn't all my own fault.
I feel like I'm not trying hard enough, which admittedly I probably ain't - but when you apply for work online time after time and receive not one reply, how are you supposed to feel?
I've had one reply back from an employer in my times emailing my CV and that was to tell me I didn't get the job. Pretty annoying.
I can't stand this boredom any longer. I really do not know what to do or where to turn. Divine intervention perhaps? nah, can't see it.
Sometimes I wonder if I throw myself off a bridge is the right way to go, because, given the gravity of my situation here. I don't have many other choices that seem feasible.
I'm living on 25 quid a week, if even that. Pretty sad when you can't afford new gear thats reduced at 10 quid because your skint.
F my life, someone save me.

People
Some people are so confusing they could actually make me scream in their faces. They really don't have a fucking clue how annoying they are.
I'm not entirely in my mind and this daft git is actively trying to puzzle me which is just leading right up my aggression alley. I seriously can't stand it. Just wish they would shut the fuck UP!!!!

Dundee away
Finally a day that didn't go wrong!
It was an early start though and I didn't get much sleep, so after about 2 maybe 3 hours of kip I was up at half seven, showered, ready and out the door by an hour later.
I texted Stu that I was on my way and so the day began. We met up at Buchanan Galleries and walked round so I could lift my money then it was off to Sainsburys to get our vouchers for the cheap train journey. We both bought chewing gum, I never seen hide nor hair of it as it mysteriously disappeared.
Anyway after the ticketsw were booked it was off to Georgics Bar where Stu bought me the pint he owed me, i'm not a big fan of lager at 11 in the morning, though the Burger King I had soaked it up.

Onto the long train journey which was spent mostly by me and Stu talking about football memories and the people we talk to on MSN etc. Good laughs and banter all the way as we split a 2 litre bottle of cider between us between Glasgow and Perth.
Upon arrival in Dundee, we headed straight for the ground. Which, from the station isn't a half a trek! We had to ask for directions twice but we got there. I was pestered intermittently with calls from my pal Mick asking where we were and he seemed fairly surprised when I tod him we were outside Dens.
I got in for an Under 16 ticket at Dens, something I failed to do in our previous visit. Stu gpt us a pie and a coke and we headed for our seat, initially down near the front but we moved up the back with the singers as the crowd packed in.
Onwards to the game...
Dundee took the lead early, a turning shot from Leigh Griffiths beating Tuffey. Griffiths is a most talented player with a bright future ahead of him, a future as bright as his barnet one might say.
After this, Thistle turned it on, playing out of their skins as they tried to bring it level, a stone wall penalty denied by the referee akin to our game at Palmerston early in the season where a sure fire penalty was turned down and we went onto lose that game.
It seemed like we were doing everything but score, Simon Donnelly almost took the bar off the goal at the Shankly end, quite a strange thing to see us shooting towards our own fans in the 1st 45 rather than the 2nd.
So we went in at halftime a bit bewildered as to how we were losing. Onto the 2nd half.
I had predicted it, Stu had predicted, several Jags fans did too - and on the 48th minute, Gary Harkins scored for Dundee. I had a lot of respect for Gary as a Thistle player, he was easily the finest player in my short tenure at Firhill that I had seen. Not that I had much to compare him to but he stood out. That respect was thrown out the window when Gary ran towards the Jags fans when he scored.
One again the Jags would be denied goalscoring chance after goalscoring chance - Tony Bullock playing the game of his life denied us three times.
We never gave up, and despite being 2-0 down in the last five minutes we sang out hearts out willed the lads on.
We were top of the league for a week, but if we play like we did on Saturday and produce fruit. We'll be back there and we'll be hard to shift. There is nothing to fear about this league after seeing them all in action and I think if we can string together a good 2nd quarter us and the Dees will pull away at the top.
Defeated but defiant. Let's see how it goes eh?
Mon the Jags!

Up late again
I'm up late again, sitting here downloading music as I hear Dad getting ready to go to work. Unemployment sucks.

Star of PTTV
Another day and another dramatic start. It began with me arranging to meet Stu and Chrisy in town so I made my way to the bus stop in very windy conditions.
After that I settled into sitting on the bus and fired a few texts off to some people to ease the boredom, I then made my way to the front of the bus as I appraoched Killermont Street feeling I had forgotten something I patted myself down only to realise I had forgotten my season ticket.
I then phoned my mum to tell her of the faux pas and I asked if my Dad could meet us at Firhill so he could drop it off so it was arranged and although they couldn't find it at first, it was eventually found down the side of the couch in the living room. So after meeting Stu and Chrisy we made our way round to Georgics where Chrisy had apint and I changed into my brand spanking new Thistle away top - which we were going to be wearing in the game against Airdrie.
So we were off so I could meet my dad at Firhill, I got refused a child single ticket on the subway but I paid the 1.20 for an adult one. I didn't have any money for a program or pie so both me and Stu starved the entire game, getting text updates from Louise on the Morton game.
First half was largely uneventful, Airdrie had chances but nothing too serious, same with Thistle. We were boosted with news Morton were beating Queens which meant a win would see us top the league. The first half was soured by an Airdrie red card, Scott McLaughlin went in on Paul Paton and lost his balance making it look worse than it was to me and to the referee who sent the Airdrie man off.
The sending off was the turning point, Airdrie sort of gave up and Thistle's midfield began to exert pressure, a fine move involving Simon Donnely and Chris Erskine threading BRYAN HODGE through to put the Jags in front:
It was God-ges first league goal for us and oh boy, did we enjoy it.
Simon Donnelly admittedly didn't have the best of games yesterday, but he's been scoring a good few and he put the game to bed after good work from supersub Mark Corcoran:

Allez le Sid! Thats his 5th goal of the season and that was us winning that game. Squeeky bum time at Palmerston meant that we sweated on whether Queens would make it 3-3 or not, their game ended before ours and we were topping the table. Yaldi.
Buying the away top was a bit daft considering my finances. I know that I shouldn't but I enjoyed, it got me on TV and we went top of the league. You're no, you're no...WE'RE TOP A THE LEAGUE AND YOU'RE NO.

Airdrie preview
So tomorrow we welcome Airdrie to Firhill. A chance for Thistle to exact revenge for the 1-0 reverse which coupled with the St. Johnstone victory over Morton which cost us our chance of taking the league title to the final day.
Thistle's squad have been struck down with a bug that originated in the Glasgow Warriors camp, with Paul Cairney having to come off early because he was so unwell, the wee man had to be sick at the side of the pitch. But the visitors have also had a flu bug rampant in their squad with eight first teamers missing from their ranks at their 1-0 defeat to Morton last weekend.
There has also been positive news on the Jags front with the official website informing us that contract extensions are to be signed. It didn't reveal the players but with speculation surrounding Jonny Tuffey and Liam Buchanan it is hoped they will be among the players re-signing, although I am not getting my hopes up.
Moving on to the game, we welcome back to Firhill two fan favourites albeit in the red and white of Airdrie. Simon Storey, the versatile Aussie was a staple of the Thistle back line last season playing best as a sweeper but featured as a central midfielder in the last few weeks of the season due to Gary Harkins picking up a late suspension. Simon always was a favourite of mine at Firhill and it will be difficult to see a player held in such high regard by the Thistle fans lining up for our rivals tomorrow. Simon scored once in nearly 100 Thistle appearances.
The second player is Paul Keegan. Paul was signed by Ian McCall along with Kevin McKinlay towards the end of the transfer window of his first season in charge. Paul was brought in to be the much-maligned target man position, a position he didn't do too well in along with Pau; Di Giacomo, both of whom faltered at Firhill. In his career at Thistle Paul played in 21 league games and scored twice.
As for my prediction? I'm always careful when prediciting these games after we unexpectedly lost 1-0 to Clyde when many Jags, including myself were predicting a heavy Thistle win. Airdrie also struck a shock against us twice last year both in the above league game and in the Alba Cup. It will be tight but I am hopeful Thistle can come away with a win.
