I'm back :)

Greetings! It's me again, after a long sabbatical from the blog I return. My last post was dated after I was made redundant from my job as a Telephone Banker for Santander and in the time since I have managed to secure a temporary reprieve from the monotony of going to the Job Centre every fortnight and spending the time between doing absolutely nothing.

I'm working in Dunnes as a Retail Assistant/Cashier which basically means I float about the shop floor telling customers where things are or I am on the tills serving customers. It's an alright wee job really, I get on well with all the staff and it is a better environment than Response where the managers were generally not very approachable.

In addition to this my social life has developed more once again, meeting new people from both Dunnes and from the Wisegroup.

Last Saturday I sampled the Cathouse in Glasgow for the first time after Sarah asked me to go. I'd never been before and from what I had heard before it was mostly all Goths and Mosher types that went, but looking at all of us we aren't really like that [although Fra could maybe put a bit of doubt in your mind] It was a very enjoyable night, we drank, had a laugh and a wee while later I pulled, didn't get to take her home but hey, I'm getting better and better at this and soon enough my luck will change.

In other news - Football is back! We played Clyde yesterday in the first round of the ALBA Challenge Cup. We won 2-1 in a difficult match in which we were pushed hard at times by the Third Division side, we took the lead early through Liam Buchanan's slick finish before ex-Jag Adam Strachan equalised with a superb free kick.

Youngster Ryan MacBeth fired in a 71st minute goal to send us into the Second round and, with tricky teams like Falkirk [who lost on penalties to newly-promoted Stirling Albion] and Raith [losing 1-0 at home to Fife rivals Cowdenbeath] there may, just may be a chance for us in this competition although we'll be needing to avoid sides like Dunfermline [1-0 winners v Third Division Arbroath and Queen of the South [2-1 winners over Albion Rovers]

Dumbarton play Morton tomorrow and no doubt either of those sides won't be a cake walk either, Morton edging us 1-0 in our last competitive meeting and Sons condeming us to a 2-1 pre-season defeat.

Heres hoping Ian and the boys do well this season, money, as always with Thistle is a taboo subject given our financial implications of the past and the present with Propco. But if we can get the right mixture we can maybe improve on our previous season position of 6th. Will be make or break for several of them but maybe, just maybe we can get our shit together.

Adios.

Marc :)
