Saturday post mortem

Yesterday was a great day but it carried several different and contrasting emotions before, during and after the game.

It started off with me rushing about silly for my bank card and having my dad bail me out after that I used some of the money to buy my breakfast which consisted of:

1 large bottle of orange Lucozade
2 Egg and bacon sandwiches
1 Packet of strawberry belts

Not the healthiest I know but I was low on fluids and sugar. Onto the bus and about an hour and a half into the journey my mates heard me on the phone and heard me mentioning that I didn't want Andy Barrowman to score for Inverness and they promptly started ribbing me =[. Moving on from that we finally arrived in Inverness and went to the Caley Social Club where they had a few drinks and I sat content with my bacon roll and chips.

The game itself was a bit iffy, Inverness has the first attack but nothing came of it. The game toed and froed for over half an hour until Liam Buchanan's cheeky backheel gave us the lead, cue massive celebrations. Just seconds later he did it again, this time firing a spectacular chip over the head of Ryan Esson and into the net from 25 yards.

But it was the third goal that really surprised us, Alan 'Archie' Archibald hasn't scored in the time he's been back at Firhill but on the stroke of half time he made a lung-bursting run into the box Liam had the ball squared it to him, Archie sold Esson a good dummy before finishing like a striker to make it 3-0 to the Jags at the break.

Above you can see me (furthest left, grey jacket) and my pals clearly overjoyed at Thistle's impressive finish to the first half.

The second half was something to maybe forget as Thistle in typical fashion not so much gave up but didn't show that quick fire draw that brought three first hald goals and Inverness who had been poor throughout took umbrage from their poor first half and Adam Rooney's penalty followed by a Richie Foran header to pull it back to 3-2 and thus rejuvanated the Highlanders. The ref added on 5 minutes at the end but to be fair with our players having to take sickness pills it seemed fair and it finished

Fake Thistle 2-3 Real Thistle

The night was a non-=event really, my pal came down and stayed the night because his mum and dad were away and he felt bit uneasy after some people were chapping his door. Onwards to next week with the return of Stu Murphy and the debut of Marc in his pink camoflage top.

Thanks for reading =]
